At the International Bicycle and Motorcycle Exhibition IFMA in Cologne in 1994 KYMCO presented a two-wheeler for the first time in Germany. The first vehicles were in such demand that they had to be sent by air freight. In 2002, the first quad was presented at Intermot in Munich, today KYMCO is the market leader in Germany. In many other European countries like Italy, France, Spain, and Netherlands KYMCO is also one of the market leaders
Since the beginning, KYMCO has always been a know-how based technology Company. KYMCO started in 1963 with the production of scooters for Honda, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world. In 1994 KYMCO was certified according to ISO 9001. Since 2008, KYMCO has been a manufacturing partner of German BMW on projects such as the 450-cc single-cylinder engines in the Enduro G 450 X. In addition, KYMCO has over 20 years of experience with electric two-wheelers in research and production.
